our friend tweed (best name ever!) (hippie parents, i think) and his lovely wife have just had their first baby. this called for a quick knit/stash buster/not boring kind of baby hat. i found one
here -- how cute is that?! my version looks a bit long on the upside-down soda bottle model -- it'll fill out over a little baby dome, i think. plus the roll can be adjusted.
using size 2 dp needles, i cast on 102 st of the
online superwash sock yarn (not exactly the colorway, which i think is discontinued), knit for 6.5", and used the super snappy crochet bind-off.
i have to say that the yummy blondwood size 2 dpn's i have were TERRIBLE with this yarn -- way too sticky a combination. but i did not have the right size addi circular, so i toughed it out.
i started it friday night, finished sunday afternoon, and actually spoke to people in between ;-).

i think i have the exact same colorway. i got it at abuelita's
isn't it perfect for a baby boy hat??!?
just don't use your blondwood needles with this yarn -- maybe bamboo would work, but i'm thinking addi turbo...
ps -- how are my socks coming along ? ;-)
